Riot, cacophony, ... Frankfurt School? With Eva von Redecker and Philipp Felsch
Thinking critically, questioning the system, disrupting delusions, even leading the revolution: no other philosophical tradition has influenced the Federal Republic of Germany more profoundly than the so-called Frankfurt School. From its beginnings until the 2010s, the momentum generated by Walter Benjamin, Theodor W. Adorno, Jürgen Habermas and Axel Honneth characterised the country's discourse. But is that still the case today? Or has the legacy of critical theory outlived its usefulness – in questions of ecology, gender politics, post-colonialism, identity politics?
Philosopher Eva von Redecker ("Bleibefreiheit", "Revolution für das Leben") and the cultural researcher Philipp Felsch ("Der lange Sommer der Theorie", "Der Philosoph – Habermas und wir") speculate on the future of critical theory in times of global polycrises.
