About Jens Beckert
Jens Beckert, born in 1967, has been Director of the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies and Professor of Sociology in Cologne since 2005. He has previously taught in Göttingen, New York, Princeton, Paris and at Harvard University, among other institutions. In 2018, he was honoured with the Leibniz Prize of the German Research Foundation. His book “Verkaufte Zukunft: Warum der Kampf gegen den Klimawandel zu scheitern droht", released this year, has been nominated for the Leipzig Book Fair's non-fiction prize.
